A few preset styles are provided for you. These set border widths, colours and opacity. They define label font sizes and colours etc. They also define the colours used for shading.
Click on the 'Style' tab on the left hand menu.
This will bring up a style selection window.
Click on the style that you like.
The border, label and shading options of this style will then be applied to your map.
